Adora Casuneli - Biography
about the author
Adora Casuneli was born in Lugoj, a town in western Romania, and grew up in a loving home with a great-grandmother famous for her exquisitely flavored dishes. Here, she first came into contact with legends and fairytales told at bedtime. Even back then, she learned something about culinary reinterpretation. But also about doughs adapted and seasoned with all kinds of secret spices, preserved from the good old days or received "from the other side" to make up for the shortcomings of the communist period.
After finishing school, she moved to Bucharest and now lives in the Swiss city of Zurich with her husband and her impressive shoe collection.
She loves writing for children who make smart choices when it comes to what they read and has five passions. Music from the 80s, sci-fi authors, shoes, children's movies, and lots of sweets.
One night Nimurel appeared to her in a dream and showed her all the wonders of the Forest called Magica Myristica. While it was bizarre at first, it didn't last long, and Adora found herself in a fascinating world enriched with delightful flavors and surprising characters. Deciding to put the story down on paper, the book Nimurel and the Children of Myristica was born. A fantasy novel for children aged 8 to 12, part of a series called Nimurel.
When she's not writing children's stories, she's working in marketing and drawing ads, buying shoes, drinking green tea, and coming up with her own flavored recipes.
